Hello friends, Today I am going to share Best Nighttime Routine for better sleep. I am one of those people who sleeps early and wakes up early and when I am sleeping, I am sleeping like a baby and I feel good night's sleep is an essential condition for a successful morning and a productive day. It relaxes your body and clears thought from your mind. By following good nighttime routine for better sleep, you would feel fresh in the next morning. I sleep well as I told you above, I sleep like a baby. It's not like I did something special to obtain a better sleep cycle. I just follow a bedtime routine before bed.

Best night habits before bed is to prepare ground in the day time so as to go bed at about 10 in the night and a habit is to be developed for maintaining it. Improve your sleeping hours, it should be 7 to 8 hours.

Many people do not maintain a discipline before bedtime. There are many reasons behind lack of physical activities, sleeping in day time, worrying for future, watching movies or videos till late night etc. The best way to have a sound sleep, which needs a planning.

Avoid Alcohol And Excess Food

My night routine is a routine. By definition, there are exceptions. Accordingly, this rule doesn't come into effect on your weekend.

During the week, you should refrain from heavy dinners and alcohol. Night is the time when body rests itself without burning much calories, so you have to light meal for dinner.

Drink Warm Milk

After one hour of dinner and 1 hour before going to sleep, drink warm milk. Warm milk relaxes you. If you take warm milk with jaggery, it helps in digestion. 

Brush Your Teeth

I brush my teeth twice a day and you should too. Before going to sleep, wash your face and clean your mouth. You should also wet your feet. If possible you could take bath with very little lukewarm water with 2-3 drops of essential oils or simply rose water in the bucket. This will make you feel super relaxed.

Stop using phone and watching TV before sleep

Stop using your mobile phones and watching TV atleast 1 hour before sleep. It's better to switch off your mobile phone or keep your phone in the other room or on silent if possible. 

Do Meditation

Do Meditation before bed such as breathing, or awareness of body, so as to avoid arising of fear or worry in mind during sleep. Try to concentrate on your breathing. It will also help you to get into sound sleep.  Relax by engaging in deep breathing and stretching. Your muscles will relax so you will sleep better.

Schedule The Next Day

I always struggle with stress. Stress of what's coming at me, stress of what am I doing. I have noticed that planning the next day and setting my targets really help me with a good sleep. You will feel less stressed when you wake up because you would have a plan to execute on.

Reading

Without a shadow of doubt, reading is a part of the best night routine. Scrap your nightly Netflix, prime, YouTube sessions and enter the world of timeless literary wisdom. Read a few pages from a book you like. None of that ebook on kindle or whatever.

Sleep straight for digestion

Sleep's position is important in bedtime routine. Try to sleep straight or the best position to sleep is facing your left side for better digestion and less toxins in the body.

Say Thank To God

Before sleeping, take 5 minutes and thank to the god for everything he has given you and ask forgiveness for your misdeeds and mistakes. Thinking in this manner also gives you peace of mind. This bedtime habit is good for better sleep.

Clear Your Mind

Finally, once the lights are off, there is only one thing left to do is shut your mind. Get into your comfortable sleep position, take a mental step back and clear the last thoughts that might be wandering around. Good night!!!
