01. Follow Skin Care In Advance

Firstly about skincare, so as much as possible trying to do your skincare in advance and don't do it immediately before applying makeup. I understand sometimes when you're in a hurry and you quickly apply your skincare and then you apply makeup but during summer season try to apply your skincare atleast half an hour in advance like moisturizers and sunscreens or whatever skincare that you use during the day. It helps to ensure that your skin has properly soaked all the skincare and there's nothing sitting on the top of your skin. In any other season, that's absolutely fine like you can do it but especially for summer season just try to do your skincare in advance so that your makeup also sits well on your skin and does not come off easily with sweat.

02. Apply Primer

Now, Let's start makeup with primer. Primers are total saviors when it comes to preventing your makeup from moving under your face mask. Apply a lightweight, hydrating primer before applying makeup. This not only ensures that your makeup clings to the primer to prevent smudging, but also gives your skin a clearer and smoother base for makeup. I use Colorbar Perfect Match Primer. The thing that I love the most about this primer is how nicely it holds the makeup.

03. Use Concealer, Compact & Skip Foundation

Next step for mask-proof makeup to use a concealer. You can use L.A Girl Pro Conceal. Now, you should avoid foundation for this transfer-proof makeup. In this step, use concealer and compact instead of foundation. Just apply little bit concealer not too much. Don't apply concealer on the bridge of nose. When you're wearing a mask, the band of the mask kind of sits on the middle of nose and this is the area which gets press the most. So it only make sense for you to not use a lot of product on this area especially that can come off very easily with the band of the mask. Use a sponge to blend the concealer it helps to keep a very thin layer of base on skin and make sure that you blended well.

Now it's time to use compact to set it. You can use M.A.C Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation or  Maybelline New York Fit Me Powder Foundation. It does give a light coverage to the skin as well. It works really well if you are just concealer.

04. Use Setting Spray after base

After you’re done with your base, spritz on a bit of setting spray over your face, allow it to dry down completely. You can use Face Canada Ultimate Pro Makeup Fixer

One thing that really works for me during summer season is doing makeup which is more matte than dewy. I have to step outside in hot and humid weather. So I prefer to do matte makeup because as the day progresses you know you sweat and your makeup starts getting oily anyway so to hold it and for as long as possible, I prefer to do matte makeup up. Also use setting spray after doing your base to create an extra layer of protection and you will have to use it again after completing your make up as well. It helps to transfer makeup under mask.

05. Filling Eyebrows

After locking your base with setting spray, let's get  to fill eyebrows with eyebrow pencil or creamy eyebrow product. It's better to avoid powder based eyebrow filler during summer seasons. Once you have filled up your eyebrows, you take a bit of loose powder on brush.  Apply a bit of loose powder on your eyebrows, basically set your eyebrows with a loose powder, and do dust it off. This is a great hack to keep your eyebrow products in place. It does make your eyebrows look more natural after you fill them up

06. Play up your eyes

Eyes and eyebrows are the only part of your face that is visible while wearing a face mask. So play with your eyes. In this step, use coloured eye pencil on overall your eye lid for sweat-proof makeup. Blend it with eyeshadow brush. You can also eyeshadow if you want.

For eyeliner, use gel eyeliner and create a eye look as you want. You can go for Pac Strike a Stroke

Now, the turn is for mascara, use Maybelline Hyper Curl Waterproof Mascara. Apply mascara on your upper and lower lashes. I prefer to skip Kajal for this mask-proof makeup. If you want you can apply.

07. Apply Highlighter, Blush

After completing eye makeup, apply blush on the apple of cheeks. Then, apply highlighter in the corner of your eyes and  on the brow bone. Avoid to use highlighter on nose when you are going to wear a protective mask

08. Use Matte Lipstick

Lipstick is one product we miss flaunting the most while wearing a face mask and we search for transfer-proof lipstick or mask-proof lipstick. But it is impossible to prevent your lipstick from smudging entirely, using a matte formula or liquid lipstick lowers the chances quite a bit. Use lip balm before applying a matte lipstick, it will keep your lips from turning dry. Maybelline New York Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick stays upto a great extent while wearing a mask.

09. Use Setting Spray After Completion of Makeup

The last step is use setting spray again all over the face to set the makeup. It  sets in your flawless makeup and ensures that you look fresh and hydrated even after hours of application. When a setting spray is spritzed onto your skin, the solvent evaporates, leaving behind the polymer that is ultra long-lasting for your makeup.

The Bottom Line

Whenever it comes to touching up your makeup especially when you are sweating. They will come to a point when you will have to touch it up. Carry compact into your bag. Whenever you've got sweat , don't apply directly compact on top of your sweat. Always carry tissue paper with you. First dab that area with tissue paper wherever you've got sweat. Once you remove all the sweat from your face, you apply compact. If you directly apply the compact on top of the swear then one your makeup will end up looking very cakey and second, your sponge will be unhygienic.
